Absolutely fabulous Blog. Great to hear it from the back-up perspective. This will be my fourth year doing back up and I still feel we learn something new every year and just when you think you have something sussed the next year its different. Last year I realised I could wash the dirty dishes at Cashel Campsite (in a proper sink) after we said cheerie to our runner at Rowardennan. Its amazing how brazen you get.

The first year we turned up at Milngavie was very nerve-racking. when you look around everyone looks so organised and professional. Funny how looks can be deceiving. Its almost as if the back-up teams are in a race to get to the first checkpoint. The first year we took over an hour to find the Drymen layby. Which was actually ok as it meant we got parked as some the first runners had already gone through. The last two years at Drymen as I'm watching for our runner I think ' Why am I here, again, I must be mad' by Kingshouse I'm thinking 'It's almost over, it's gone by so quick'. This year I'm planning to run the Tyndrum/Bridge of Orchy leg. I've been told its the easiest section. It better be! Not sure I should making the cross over from nourishment provider to runner. It might help me get a sleep afterwards as I always find it hard to get a nap.
Good luck for the weekend and hopefully see you on the way. We are also staying at the travel inn. Our runner is very optimistic this year so I wont have to sleep in the car. Yippee!!

Good luck on running a bit of the race! Before you know it you'll doing the whole thing!!

The first few years I was terrified to speak to anyone. They all looked like they knew what they were doing. Now I'll talk to anyone and brazenly pee in any available toilet.

I've already put the wind up The Runner by suggesting we must be due a puncture or something else happen to the car this year!

If I don't see you during the race I'll see you at breakfast on Sunday!
